Seth Godin founded Squidoo and as you may have noticed, I really respect the guy for his brilliant thoughts on life and business. Squidoo is donating up to $80,000 to these charities (40,000 votes). I noticed after I voted that there are currently about 7000 votes. So get in there and make your one vote, and then tell others to do the same. It’s free money to help out your preferred charity. If there’s free money to give, let’s make sure it’s all used up before mid October when the voting ends.
There are a couple of things I don’t like about the presentation of this giveaway. One, there is a very long list of charities there. And most of those charities I don’t know anything about. So it would be nice if they were to offer a link to or just a small blurb about the charity. Secondly, I’m not a big fan of it being considered a popularity contest. Most charities on there are very worthwhile and need more support. However, the Ferrets Unlimited Ferret Shelter isn’t exactly where I’ll be sending my vote considering the importance of most of the others.
