On saturday february 3rd, Toby and I started out on our two day journey. We both finished up at work during the week and packed and ran errands the last day and a half. We loaded up a few of our worldly goods into the truck and car and prayed that we would make it!! Saturday morning came faster than it was wanted and we got on our way. Kevin and Wendy Haydon waved us off (after a fabulous breakfast..thanks Wendy!!). A brief stop to say goodbye to Em, Kev, Colby, Molly and Connor and then a short stop to say goodbye to Nana. The first few miles were a little blurry but we settled in for the long drive. Toby let me lead and set the pace, so the speed varied depending on my boredom and A.D.D. level!! We eventually got to Bend, Oregon where we stopped in for a delicious lunch with Steve, Nichole, Tyler and Tanner. The boys entertained us through lunch and I would have stayed to play all day if I could have. We drove the rest of the way to Medford, with no snow on the road!!!! On the way, a humungo truck roared past us on a 2 lane road and then we saw him later pulled over by a cop. There was rejoicing in our vehicles because that hardly ever happens, and because it meant we didn’t have to stop and help him when he wrecked because of his stupidity!! we finally got to Medford and Mike, Lee and Carla (Lynnee’s family) were anxiously awaiting our arrival. We had dinner with them and my Grandpa. Mike (my brother) was picked up at the bus station and shared stories of the interesting people he encountered along the way!! Carla made us breakfast rolls and sent us on our way. We made it down to San Luis Obispo in about 9 hours. This part of the trip was quick. Mike made the time go much faster. It is not often that he and I get 9 hours to be together and we talked almost that whole time! It sure was good to be able to stand and lay around when we got to our final destination. Judd and Val King (Toby’s long time friend) have offered to put up with us for the time being.
