Yesterday was kind of momentous for me. After three and a half years I finally upgraded my camera. The archaic Canon 20D just hasn’t been up to par. A couple of my stock agencies are requiring certain file sizes to submit. My little old 8 megapixel camera was just barely making the cut. I’ll keep her around as my backup now, just in case I should drop my new one into a hippo’s mouth in Africa this coming winter. After some considerable research, it came down to the Canon 50D. It was just released a month ago and placed on the shelves just yesterday. It’s the same amateur/pro camera as the 20D, but three generations later. So there are a lot of upgrades. It’s not quite what I’ve been wanting to move up to, but when I’m out-and-about gallivanting around without a full time job, and money somehow seems to just make it in time to pay the bills, well I just can’t always get what I want. There’s always the possibility of someday.
Yesterday’s quick test shots left me feeling good about the 50D and I’ll enjoy more shooting with it. Here’s a pic from the first batch of shots. This is Logan, Julie’s dog.
