So far this week we have done enough to wear me out!!
Mon - We took Mike around Nipomo, showing him Toby’s house growing up. Dropped off our stuff at Julie’s. Mike and I went for a long walk on the beach. I ended up doing something wierd to my ankles and have been in pain when i walk. In the PM, we made dinner for Judd and Val and invited Tod over which meant much eating and laughing ensued!!
Tues - We drove down to Santa Barbara and showed mike around. Got a few applications for jobs and called on some apartments. Watched a little v-ball and played on the beach. In the PM we took Mike to Big Jackos for dinner and attempted to eat our huge scrumptous steaks, failed miserably, but gave it our best effort. Then a quick visit with Julie concluded the evening.
Wed - Mike had to leave in the AM, so I drove him up to San Luis Obispo and he meandered his way up to San Jose in his rental car. The rest of the day we took it easy, or at least i did while Toby worked.
Thurs / Fri - Pretty much contained work, job searching and a little house hunting. In the process of hunting it was decided that we would stay in the San Luis Obispo vicinity for a little while instead of moving down to Santa Barbara right away. During our searches we ran across a cute little granny cottage that is about 600 square feet with vaulted ceilings, a laundry room, full size kitchen, fire place, living room and even a little more. Upon talking with the owner for a while we filled out an application and were on our way.
Sat - By mid day we heard back about the cottage and had our down payment paid. After a few weeks of renovations we will be able to move in. Now we just pray that jobs will line up as easily as the rental did. The house sits just a half mile from the sandy beaches and dunes of Oceano, so we should be pretty happy about that.
Sun - Finally after a week we got to spend a little time with Julie and Matt. A beautiful afternoon of sunshine gave us the opportunity to eat out on the back patio. We certainly can’t complain about the weather anymore.
